Toxicant Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics

Trichloroethylene (TCE)

To better characterize the risks of TCE exposure, we developed a novel toxicodynamic model 1 and have recently been examining the role that TCE plays in mediating epigenetic drift 2, alterations in DNA methylation 3, and changes in CD4(+) T cell activation 4.

Organophosphorus insecticides

We have an ongoing project to develop a scientifically-sound methodology to find a health-based environmental public health indicator and estimate a benchmark dose for the organophosphorus insecticide chlorpyrifos.

We have also developed a computational tool to characterize biomarkers and conduct dose estimation for this insecticide,

Chlorinated hydrocarbons

We employed xenobiotic metabolomics and a software package we developed, BioTRaNS, to predict the metabolite inventory and pathways resulting from exposure to a mixture of chlorinated solvents 5.
